I find it sad and a little disturbing that most people who use "catharsis" as an excuse for media violence don't really understand what catharsis means.
I also find it sad and a little disturbing that the very media artefacts which are indeed justifiable under the catharsis argument are often banned, censored, or excoriated by the mainstream media. Wake up and smell the blood, people! When people blow supposed "bad guys" up for no good reason, they get A+ ratings and widespread acclaim, but when creators try to use violence to deliver an artistic message, they get held back and cut down at every turn. And we wonder why global society has regressed to the point where we allow a monkey to be the President of the most powerful nation in the world.
More on this later.

Blargh.
Yes, I have been bitten by the blogging bug.
I suppose it's a case of having a great many things to get off my chest, but in any case, I might as well cut to the chase rather than waffling around with introductions.
Later.
